Tech Trowbridge – Networking Breakfast (free)

Welcome to the Tech Trowbridge Networking Breakfast!
Join us for a networking breakfast at Wiltshire College & University Centre on 4th April to experience the college’s multi-million pound ESports Arena and IT and gaming hub – a fantastic new facility for local businesses and students studying IT, computing and digital media.
After breakfast and a tour of the new tech hub facilities, there will be short talks by South West Wiltshire MP Dr Andrew Murrison, Chamber member Daryl Tompkins from Platform81 on the benefits of using AI to enhance your marketing content, and Head of Faculty for Creative Arts, Media & Performance, Owain Milford, and Martin Reeves from Wiltshire College & University Centre on the ESports Arena and opportunities for local businesses to engage students for work experience, T levels and apprenticeships.
Event FREE for Chamber members. £9 for non-members.
The new Tech Trowbridge facilities are available to local businesses to upskill their teams or to host Esports and coding competitions and corporate events.
Facilities include live broadcast and streaming capabilities, IT laboratories, Digital CAVE (Computer Aided Virtual Environment), video wall display and a large flexible workspace across two floors, featuring collaborative and individual state-of-the-art workstations.
Dr Andrew Murrison said: “I was absolutely blown away by what I saw at the Tech Trowbridge project at Wiltshire College & University Centre’s Trowbridge campus. What has been created is a truly cutting-edge facility for the enhancement of digital skills, which will allow the college to become a market leader for teaching across the digital sector.
“Trowbridge and the surrounding areas are home to a number of emerging companies focused on digital skills and technologies, and it is right that the college should take the lead in developing future workforces in these industries, which will help to grow our communities.”
Iain Hatt, principal and CEO at WCUC, said: “Tech Trowbridge will benefit our current and future students, and also lead to the development of important learning resources for businesses and organisations across the county in the digital sector as they look to upskill their workforces.”
Work placements & Apprenticeships – Wiltshire College & University Centre students are available for work experience and apprenticeships to provide business support and give students valuable work experience.
