You are invited to support Free the Night, an empowering community event happening in association with Still Sisters and the Fear Free charity on 7th March 2025, the evening before International Women’s Day, supported by the PCC Community Action Fund.

The event  will celebrate and support women and girls in Trowbridge and across the South West.  With 1 in 4 women and 1 in 6 men experiencing domestic abuse and 1 in 2 women and 1 in 7 men felt unsafe walking alone after dark in a quiet street near their home. This event aims to raise awareness and build community spirit in a fun and inclusive way.

Event Details:

• Time: 5:45 PM to 8:45 PM
• Location: Trowbridge Town Centre, starting and ending at the FearFree Charity Shop at the Gateway Shopping Centre.
• Key Highlights:

• • Banner decorating and a warm-up session by dance troop Clubbersize to kick off the evening.
  • A guided walk through Trowbridge Town Centre (30–40 minutes), featuring stops like a Glow Up Station hosted by Still Sisters Distillery.
  • Talks by FearFree’s CEO and local police on safety and domestic abuse awareness.
  • Reflection boards, a raffle, refreshments, and goody bags to close the night.
  • A fun, empowering, and inclusive atmosphere open to all ages and genders atmosphere.

Rest assured, there will be no disruption to your business operations during the event. We will have marshals in place to ensure smooth proceedings, and our team will carry out a litter pick after the event to leave the streets clean and tidy.

How Your Business Can Support

1. Light Up the Streets: Show solidarity by leaving your shop lights on from 6pm-8pm on or creating a light or glow display in your window to support the event’s theme.
2. Extend Opening Hours: If possible, stay open until 8 PM to engage with the increased foot traffic and demonstrate your commitment to the cause.
3. Cheer on the Walkers: Join the celebration by cheering participants along the route or hosting a stop to engage with the community.
4. Donate a Raffle Prize: Contribute a product, service, or gift voucher to help us raise funds for FearFree so we can help more local people experiencing domestic abuse and showcase your business to the community.
