INVITATION – All Trowbridge area businesses, organisations, environmental groups and schools are invited to register take part in the 2024 Trowbridge Flower Festival by emailing info@trowbridgechamber.com, before 20th May.

Registered businesses will be eligible for a 20% discount on pots and flowers and  pre-planted pots and hanging baskets at special prices kindly offered by the Trowbridge Garden Centre and to feature on the Flower Festival trail maps.

SUMMARY – The aim of the event, which coincides with Great Big Green Week from 8th – 16th June, is to bring colour, animation, eco-activities and increased footfall to Wiltshire’s county town.

DATES – The main festival runs from 8th – 16th June and flower displays will continue over the summer and beyond. There will also be a series of eco and flower-related events taking place during Great Big Green Week and at the June and July Weaver’s Markets, followed by other events, including the Apple Festival and Pumpkin trail in the Autumn.

CHAMBER MEMBERS – Out of town Chamber members are also invited to take part and to feature on the trail maps by displaying sponsored planters at central Trowbridge locations.  .

ACTIVITIES will also include seed swaps, schools making flowers and pollinators from recycled materials to display in shop windows, activities to create floral displays created from upcycled objects, and pumpkin planting for the Autumn pumpkin trail.

MAPS – There will be a trail map featuring registered flower displays in and around Trowbridge, and prizes for the best business window displays, including a £100 voucher from the Trowbridge Garden Centre.

INSPIRATION – A list of flower arrangements, pots, planters and other items available from local garden centres, along with prices, is available for businesses taking part in the trail – CLICK HERE.

PERMISSIONS – Flower Festival registered businesses may be able to display planters outside their premises, as long as 2m of pavement width remains and they have PLI approval from their insurers. The Trowbridge Chamber is coordinating planter approvals with Wiltshire Council Highways.

SUSTAINABLE – All displays and planters should be as sustainable as possible, using upcycled/recycled objects as plant pots and planters, peat-free compost and ideally perennial plants that can be re-planted after the trail to grow again next year.
