EAT YOUR PUMPKINS! Of the 40 million pumpkins bought in the UK last year, some 20 million went to waste, equivalent to £32.6 million of food and enough to make around 360 million portions of pumpkin pie. To help keep pumpkins out of landfill, the Trowbridge trail pumpkins will be decorated whole so they can be eaten afterwards!
RECIPES – If you don’t carve your pumpkin, you can cook it and make delicious pumpkin soup, pies, roasted veggies. See here for some tasty pumpkin recipes.
Kez Garner, President of the Trowbridge Chamber of Commerce said: “We are delighted that so many town centre businesses are taking part in our Trowbridge Pumpkin Trail and are having fun creating their pumpkin displays. Many thanks to Tesco for kindly donating the pumpkins and to Witty Event Management for organising the trail. Our pumpkin trail will be a fun way for Trowbridge residents and visitors of all ages to get out and about and explore some wonderful town centre shops and businesses that they may not have been to before.”
Many thanks to Tesco for kindly donating the pumpkins and to the above businesses for the Pumpkin Trail prizes.
We hope you enjoy finding all the pumpkins and good luck with the competition!
