The Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2021 exhibition is on show from Saturday 8 January to 5 March 2022 at Drawing Projects UK in Trowbridge, Wiltshire. The presentation of the exhibition and engagement programme is supported using public funding by Arts Council England.
Known as the most prestigious annual open exhibition for contemporary drawing in the UK, the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2021 exhibition includes 114 drawings selected from 3,300 entries by 1,673 drawing practitioners from 46 different countries, and the Awards of £27,000 were announced in September 2021.
The Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2021 exhibition reflects a broad scope of contemporary drawing practice and includes drawing practitioners who live and work across the four nations of the UK as well as in Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Spain, The Netherlands, and the USA. The exhibition includes 101 drawings by 89 artists selected by Sheela Gowda, Artist; Simon Groom, Director of Modern and Contemporary Art, National Galleries Scotland; and Zoé Whitley, Director of Chisenhale Gallery, London. The Working Drawing Award and display of 13 drawings by 12 practitioners was selected by Leonie Bell, Director of V&A Dundee; Charles O. Job, Designer and Architect; and Paul Finch, Programme Director of the World Architecture Festival.
Drawing Projects UK is a centre for the research and development of drawing and contemporary art in Trowbridge, the county town of Wiltshire, with excellent public transport links. Drawing Projects UK (Bridge House, 10 Stallard Street, Trowbridge, BA14 9AE) is adjacent to Trowbridge train station which has mainline services to Bath, Bristol, Bruton, Cardiff, Gloucester, London, Salisbury, Southampton, Swindon, Westbury, and Weymouth, with several public car parks nearby. Drawing Projects UK is an accessible venue and a blue badge parking space is available. Miranda’s Coffee Shop will be open from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 8 January 2022, serving delicious coffee & teas, home-made cakes and light food.
