Parade House Open Day & Trowbridge Heritage Trail
September 10, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Step back in history to the Georgian period and visit the elegant rooms of Grade 1 listed Parade House, built in 1730 and one of Trowbridge’s finest buildings, during Heritage Open Day on Saturday 10th September, from 1000-1600.
Built in around 1730 for the wealthy cloth merchant Robert Houlton, Parade House is one of the most elegant buildings in Trowbridge – the centrepiece of what Pevsner’s Guide to Wiltshire described as a “stretch of palaces” along Fore Street.
Recently restored by its new owners, Parade House features beautiful reception rooms, a sweeping staircase and grand ballroom and is available for private and corporate hire.
Parade House forms part of a Heritage Open Day trail, which includes Trowbridge’s lock-up known as The Blind House on the town bridge, the beautiful St James Church and its Bell Tower and the Victorian Town Hall.
Collect your trail map from Trowbridge Museum, located in the Grade 2 listed Home Mills, a beautiful former woollen cloth mill entered via The Shires shopping centre.
