In this session SILT in St George’s Works, Trowbridge, will  look at marks as essential to any artist’s visual vocabulary – the more marks we can make, the more textured and layered an artwork can be.

A fundamental skill for anyone interested in drawing, painting, printing, textiles and so much more. This is an invaluable session if you want to loosen up and experiment with abstract marks. We’ll look at historical drawings from east and west as well as contemporary artworks for context and to get an idea of the huge range of possibilities of mark making.

You’ll come away with several sheets of marks for future reference along with some SILT made charcoal to use at home.
