DESCRIPTION:Saturday 1st November | The Civic\, Trowbridge \nThis year marks a historic milestone – 80 years since the end of the Second World War. At our 2025 Festival of Remembrance\, we invite you to join us in an evening of reflection\, storytelling\, and shared gratitude as we commemorate the 80th anniversary of VE Day and VJ Day. \nThese pivotal moments in history signified the end of a global conflict and the beginning of peace. Together\, we’ll honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served on the battlefields of Europe and the Pacific\, and those who supported them from home. Their resilience shaped the freedoms we enjoy today. \nThere will be a commemoration at the Trowbridge Park War Memorial fromm 7pm-7.30pm\, followed by an evening event at The Civic. \nThe evening will feature stirring live performances from The Steeple Rock Choir\, The Steeple Belles\, and The Wiltshire Police Band\, alongside moving readings\, personal accounts\, and moments of silence to remember and give thanks. Following the remembrance service\, there will be a ‘party of celebration’ of VE and VJ day with entertainment from Five Star Swing bringing ‘Hits from the Blitz’. \nWhether you’re a veteran\, a family member\, or simply someone who wants to reflect on our shared past\, everyone is welcome.
